What is the Eco-Pure Peat Moss Biofilter?

The Eco-Pure Peat Moss Biofilter is an advanced on-site wastewater treatment system that can treat wastewater to a very high degree. The treatment process capitalizes on the natural properties of sphagnum peat moss. Peat moss treats wastewater through physical filtration, absorption and activity of naturally occurring microbes and larger organisms.

How the Eco-Pure Peat Moss Biofilter works:

Wastewater enters the pre-treatment septic tank. From the septic tank, the effluent enters the Eco-Pure Peat Moss Biofilter and is spread evenly over the entire peat surface, flowing downward through the peat. The highly treated effluent is discharged at the bottom of the enclosed module and transported to the disposal bed by gravity or sewage pump.

Click here to see the Ecopure Septic System Design plan for this Septic System Installation located in Old Bridge New Jersey. This design plan was a redesign of a previously approved Septic System design by another engineer. Due to the high water table a mounded type septic system was designed. The homeowner did not want a large mound in her front yard especially since the front yard is small and faces the street. This mound would limit front yard use & visablility of the home both inside and out. A-Norton was consulted as an approved Ecopure Septic System Installer. We worked closely with an Ecopure Certified Engineer, Middlesex County Health Department and the homeowner to provide a Septic System that was well-designed, minimally invasive and highly efficient.
